A little background courtesy of the brand, CUSTOM D.O.S.E is a personalised skincare service that combines high potency ingredients with professional expertise and technology, to create a bespoke, all-in-one corrective serum – developed, measured, and dispensed in approximately 10 minutes. Each CUSTOM D.O.S.E begins with a professional in-clinic consultation guided by the SkinCeuticals diagnostic tool.

Each serum combines a precision formulation of exfoliating, brightening, or even clarifying ingredients compounded in real-time in a hydroalcoholic or emulsion base.

My Experience with CUSTOM D.O.S.E

I was lucky enough to attend the launch of the new product in Sydney and experience firsthand the creation of the CUSTOM D.O.S.E prescription by Dr. Steven Lieu, who offer the service at his clinic (Shape Clinic). As soon as I arrived, i got a Skinscope skin analysis following by an iPad-based questionnaire to check my skin concerns as well as the improvements I wanted to achieve (texture and hyperpigmentation) in my case. The specialist also checked what type of base for the serum will suit my skin best to create the perfect blend for my skin that I would like to pad on my skin every day.  

Based on my skin concerns, my specific D.O.S.E. analysis recommended a formula that contains 0.1% retinol, niacinamide, licorice, and mulberry. With hundreds of different combinations, it’s pretty impressive to see the D.O.S.E. machine whirred at 1200 rotations per minute to yield clinical-grade formulations, stop every now and then to drop the best formula to create my own customised serum. Once the bottle is full, the doctor printed a custom label that includes your name, and you are all set to go home. 

The price of CUSTOM D.O.S.E is not cheap, AUD $295, however, it lasts for about three months, and you’ll be sure that the serum is 100% right for you. I’m really loving my CUSTOM D.O.S.E formula as it’s not breaking out my skin, and also I can gradually see the work is doing on my acne scars and texture, so rather than layering different formulas that sometimes don’t work together, this bottle is doing all the job for me which means basically I’m hooked and I think you’ll be too.
