Retinol is known as one of the most powerful ingredients in the beauty space for improving wrinkles, decongesting, fading dark spots and adding radiance to the skin. Unfortunately, for those with sensitive skin or who haven’t tried retinol – yet – is also known as an ingredient that can irritate the skin.

The Review
When I started introducing La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum, my skin was behaving under control (no active acne) But still pretty dull thanks to my post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, so I was looking to try out some active ingredients that won’t breakout my skin but help me achieve a more even texture and tone.
I have used retinol in the past. However, it is always an ingredient that makes me nervous about adding to my routine as my skin tends to react from time to time. However, La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum has a formula that contains two forms of vitamin A. Retinol and Retinyl palmitate. Plus, one of my favourite ingredients, vitamin B3, known as niacinamide which is excellent to soothe the skin and reinforce the skin barrier, so you can forget about irritation.
After six weeks of using La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 serum, let me tell you that I’m hooked first because of its price point ($71.95) you get 30ml product packed with high-quality ingredients and secondly because I could see results on my skin after the second week of use. From evening out my texture to adding radiance to the skin while maintaining my skin barrier healthy is a great night serum to use on a regular basis. Suffice to say: This is one of the gentles retinol I have ever tried, meaning is my new favourite retinol serum at the moment, and I’ll need a tap up soon.
