Welcome to our Favourites of the month — once again, beauty junkies Ana and Belen have put together a monthly roundup of new releases and undisputed favourites worth adding to your online cart ASAP. From wellness to beauty finds, here are the things these two editors can’t stop talking about.
Belen’s Favourites of the Month
Glow Recipe, Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner
If you like me have a problematic skin texture and your skin goals are on the path to get rid of acne scarring, I have something that might interest you.
This ultra-gentle vegan, exfoliating watermelon infused toner has been a true discovery for my skin and my pores/scars in particular, with a powerful but soft formula that can be used even in the most sensitive skin types. Thanks to the PHA+BHA pairing, both non-irritating still effective acids that help to decongest the skin and unclog pores.
The coolest thing of all is that it doesn’t only look so grammable on your beauty cupboard but it also contains cactus water, yes, you heard right! Cactus water delivers deep hydration to the skin, much more than your daily H2O doses due to its high fatty acid content. It definitely deserved it to be on the favourites of the month memo.
Sisley Paris, Phyto-Touche Illusion D’eté
I love when I look myself in the mirror and my skin has that golden shimmering all over it, reminders of summer days that are not far from as I’m writing this memo. I don’t know about you but having a sun-kissed skin all year round are goals for me, even though we might be in quarantine mode for god knows how longer…
I can’t help to weekend-y my way onto a summer face illusion and this boujee from Sisley has been here to accomplish a tanned skin pale complexion even on palest days… Feels like a second skin, wears as natural gel-powdery with that European summer vibe.
O&M, Frizzy Logic Shine Serum
Who says size does matter It’s because they haven’t tried the Frizzy Logic Shine Serum from Original Minerals. This little goodie has been working like magic in a bottle for my wild mane. The frizzy logic is lightweight and creates a barrier that calms and delivers moisture whilst it protects the hair from humidity.
The best of all is that it’s infused with Argan Oil and the O&M signature oil, a natural blend of coconut and macadamia oils. If you like me suffers with out of control hair you probably are aware that the aforementioned ingredients have to be a must on your hair care routine and a great reason why this has fast make to my favourites of the month.
Just with a few drops in my hands I can instantly feel how my hair goes from crazy lion king vibes to bouncy and hydrated curls.
Ana’s Favourites of the Month
SWISSE BEAUTY, Collagen Renew Powder With Ashwagandha
If you know me, you probably know that I’m all about anti-ageing elixirs and collagen powders are my non-negotiables. Basically, the reason collagen is good for the gut is the same reason collagen is good for your skin as it’s the main structural protein in our skin.
Did you know that by the time you’re in your mid-50s your body is producing 50 percent less collagen? Now, you understand why collagen is my non-negotiable.., but if you are expecting to ingest collagen, look in the mirror and give yourself a thumbs-up, unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that as collagen it’s like SPF, a long-term anti-aging ally.
I’ve been trying the Swisse Beauty Collagen Renew powder with Ashwagandha for about two months and I like to mix it with water first thing in the morning, right after waking up, and I can not love it more. It’s a delicious, berry-infused (it tastes a little like a fresh healthy soda) that supports healthy smooth skin plus it has ashwagandha that also helps me to keep my levels of nervously on point.
Even though the packaging is less glamorous-looking than others, it’s pretty good on a budget option to go for as it’s a great formula (hydrolyzed collagen, 97.3% sugar-free) with an awesome taste and easy to dissolve. You can also mix it with your coffee, tea, or a smoothie to help you to achieve glowy-skin goals like I do, reason enough to make it to my favourites of the month.
MALIN+GOETZ, Leather
When it comes to fragrances, we all have our faves and one brand that’s been a longtime go-to for editors is MALIN+GOETZ.
MALIN+GOETZ’s new leather Eau de perfume is an amazing yet not for everyone one essence that I’ve fallen hard with, its universally cool-weathered cedarwood, earthy sandalwood and genuine leather smell just like a dream come true. It’s definitely a warm, intimate, and sophisticated perfume that makes me feel empowered and ready for the day after a few sprays. It’s perfect for autumn, winter, and a great alternative if you want something to stand out with but not wanting to spend the $$$… Yes…people have stopped me in the street asking me “what perfume are you wearing?”
Skinreset by Emma Lewisham, Pigmentation Correcting Serum
I like and I “have to” pay meticulous attention to my skin, and skin pigmentation and uneven skin tone are some of the issues for me at the moment. I’ve noticed small areas of discoloration and darkening in my skin…. I know, freckles are cute, but we’re not talking about freckles, these are small, uneven dark patches that seem to persist on my face, neck…. which is not cool.
Pigmentation or brown spots as they’re more commonly known are usually caused by aka the sun. Lucky me I had the chance to try the hero product by Emma Lewisham, Skin Reset and I’ve been noticing big results (brighter and more youthful appearance of skin) after 3 weeks using it. Firstly the packing couldn’t look better on my bathroom shelf, the smell is a botanical dream and the texture feel so lightweight into the skin plus enhancing radiance and evening tone from the very beginning. This bad boy only contains 24 of the world’s most high-performing natural ingredients (I’m wondering why I loved it so much?)
